Are you a travel agency? +
No. ROAM is not a travel agency, tour operator, or booking service. We create digital route packs — detailed PDF guides that tell you exactly where to go, where to stay, and how to get there. You book everything yourself, direct with suppliers (hotels, trains, flights), at the best available rates.
Do you book hotels or trains for me? +
No. We don’t make any bookings on your behalf. Every route pack includes direct links to Trip.com for hotels and train tickets — you click, you book, you pay the supplier directly. No agency markups, no booking fees, no middleman.
So what exactly do I get? +
You get a complete PDF guide for your chosen route: day-by-day itineraries, vetted hotels with specific room recommendations, high-speed rail logistics, bilingual address cards, a full culinary guide, the Golden Hour Clock, and the 19-page Chinese Digital Kit included free. Everything you need to plan and book your own trip — nothing you don’t.
Which route is best for a first-time visitor? +
Route 01 (Past & Future) covers Beijing, the Great Wall, Aranya, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Shanghai — the classic hits. If you want something more off-beat, Route 03 (The Silk Road) or Route 06 (The Wild West) are the other strong choices.
Can I combine routes? +
Yes — and we encourage it. Route 06 (The Wild West) and Route 03 (The Silk Road) combine into a 20-night arc across the entire historic corridor. Route 02 (Above the Clouds) and Route 07 (The Diaspora Coast) combine into The Southern Arc. See our bundle pricing for discounts.
How many nights do I need for each route? +
Routes range from 6 nights (Island Time, Coast Escape) to 17 nights (Past & Future). Each product page shows the exact length.
Are these routes suitable for solo travellers? +
Yes — all routes are designed for independent travellers, solo or in groups. Hotel bookings are for double rooms, but single occupancy is usually available at a similar price.
What’s the Chinese Digital Kit? +
It’s a 19-page guide covering Alipay, WeChat Pay, VPNs, eSIMs, 12306 train booking, DiDi, metro QR codes, food delivery apps, translation tools, and a troubleshooting playbook. You set everything up before you fly so you don’t get stranded.
Do I get the Digital Kit with a route pack? +
Yes — it’s included free with every route pack. You can also buy it separately for €19 if you don’t need a full itinerary.
Why do you recommend Trip.com? +
Trip.com is the most reliable booking platform for foreign travellers in China. Most hotels in our packs are independent Chinese boutique properties that don’t list on Booking.com or Expedia — or list there at higher prices with less availability. Trip.com has a full English interface, accepts international credit cards, and handles the 12306 train booking process on your behalf. The links in our packs are affiliate links (we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you), but hotel selection is entirely independent of that arrangement.
How do I book hotels and trains? +
Each route pack includes direct Trip.com booking links for every hotel. Train bookings are handled through Trip.com or 12306 — the pack explains both options step by step. You book everything yourself — we just tell you exactly where and how.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and PayPal through our secure checkout.
Are the Trip.com links affiliate links? +
Yes — we earn a small commission (3–6%) at no extra cost to you. Hotel selection is completely independent of affiliate arrangements. We only recommend properties we would stay at ourselves.
What currency are your prices in? +
All prices on our website are displayed in Euro (€). However, we support multi-currency display — if you’re visiting from outside the Eurozone, you may see prices in your local currency (GBP, USD, etc.) for your convenience.
How it works: The price you see is an estimate based on current exchange rates. Your bank or credit card provider will convert the final charge to your local currency at checkout. No additional fees are added by ROAM.
Can I change the currency displayed on the site? +
Yes — if you’re in a country where we support local currency display, you’ll see prices in your local currency automatically. You can also manually select your preferred currency from the currency switcher in the header.
Do I need a visa to visit China? +
Many EU citizens enjoy visa-free entry through 2026 for stays under 30 days, but this varies by nationality and is subject to change. You are responsible for checking your own visa requirements before travel.
What’s the best time to visit China? +
September–October is the strongest window for most routes. Each route pack includes a seasonal guide with the best months for that specific itinerary.
How do I access my route pack after purchase? +
You’ll receive an instant download link via email. The pack is provided as a PDF file compatible with all devices.
Are the guides updated regularly? +
Yes — we update all routes annually and send free updates to buyers. The current edition is 2026.
What if I have a question during my trip? +
Every route pack comes with email support. If you get stuck — whether it’s a train booking or a VPN issue — we’re a message away.
Do you offer bundle discounts? +

What’s your refund policy? +
All sales are final on digital products. If you experience a technical issue accessing your files, contact us within 7 days and we’ll help resolve it.
